HOW TO LOOK AFTER THOSE LOVELY LASHES FOR MAXIMUM IMPACT!
A fresh, full set of lash extensions can make you feel a million dollars. You roll out of bed in the morning and already look like you have spent an hour with the glam squad. You ever so subtly catch glimpses of your luscious eyes as you walk past any reflective surface. You effortlessly turn up to brunch and are swamped by your gal pals telling you how divine your lashes are looking! You find yourself addicted to the process because it makes you feel so good… and why wouldn’t you, there is no harm in enhancing our own natural beauty!
If you are loving your lashes and want to keep them looking as pristine and perfect for as long as possible, it is time to start caring for your lashes between infills. Read on for the #HBGals guide to long lasting, luscious lashes …
The first rule – let’s say the golden rule, NO wetting after you get your lashes done for at least 24 hours. This includes no working out, no heat, no saunas, no swimming, no direct showers on the face, nothing! Keep your lashes as dry and as protected as possible for the first 24 hours to give the glue sufficient time to set.
Rule number 2, and I must stress this one, after you have allowed the glue to cure you MUST wash your lashes every night. The best way to wash your lashes is with a good quality lash cleanser like the one we sell on the Highlight Beauty website. Washing your lashes will make sure you are removing any makeup or dead skin cells that have settled on your eyelids and base of your lashes. Failing to wash can cause a build up of the nasties and can lead to lash lice, eye infections and a barrier making it hard for your next set of lashes to attach to a nice, clean, natural lash which leads to poor retention. Clean lashes also make sure you get the most out of your lash appointment because there is minimal downtime on cleaning lash and concentration on adding lashes which is what you want.
Brush your lashes, treat them like the true Queens that they are. Gently brushing your lashes as you wake up and as needed throughout the day will ensure that any fallout is quickly removed without attempting to take a few friends along for the ride. Do not become obsessive with your lash brushing, keep it for mornings and when you have a rogue lash throughout the day as overbrushing can also lead to increased fallout. So when we say gently brush, use a lash brush and try not to rub your eyes or sleep heavily on your face also to avoid excess pressure on the lashes.
With these three simple rules you can maximise that fresh lash look and feel that million dollar feeling for longer. Maintaining your lashes and staying on top of your infills will also help to keep you looking your fabulous self, rolling out of bed looking like some kind of goddess!
