BROW SCULTP & HYBRID BROWS:
After a brow sculpt or hybrid brows it is that for 24 hours after your treatment you do not wet or heat your brows. This means that after your brows you need to avoid washing your brows in the shower, no swimming, no sitting in hot saunas or working out. This will give your brows time to fully take the tint or die. After the first 24 hours, avoid washing your brows if you want the tint or die to last longer and always keep them moisturised.
If you have had hybrid brows, the stain behind the skin is like a tan, so if you exfoliate or cleanse them every day the stain will disappear faster. We certainly suggest you avoid retin-A, AHA’s, glycolic acids and citric acids as these will have an impact on the longevity of your brows.
Once your brows have been done it is important to not pluck or trim between appointments as plucking the wrong hair can alter your shape altogether, best to leave the styling to us. Maintenance is different for everyone depending on how quickly your hair grows. Some people require attention every 4 to 5 weeks while others can go between 6 and 8 weeks.
BROW LAMINATION:
Similar to a brow sculpt or hybrid brows, it is important that you do not wet or heat your brows for the first 24 hours after your treatment. Avoid washing your brows, no swimming, no saunas or working out, all these activities will ruin the treatment. After the first 24 hours you can shower as normal and once out of the shower, I like to set the brows back in place with a spoolie or brow brush. Be mindful of your brows once you have had them done, keep them moisturised so they don’t dry out and avoid exfoliating products on the brows.
COSMETIC TATTOOING:
If you have had tattooing, it is essentially like taking care or any tattoo however on a very delicate area of skin. On the first day you need to be mindful of ensuring your hands are clean before touching your brows and every 2 – 3 hours on the first day, you will need to take a clean baby pat or damp cotton round and gently pat through your brows. Once you have pat the area, pat dry with a clean tissue and apply a small amount of aftercare cream to each brow.
Between Day 2 and 14, you should start your day by dabbing your brows with a clean baby wipe or damp cotton round, pat dry with a clean tissue and then apply a small amount of aftercare cream to each brow. Repeat this process each night also. In the first 2 weeks you should not go swimming, or use steam rooms or saunas and maintain only light exercise to avoid sweating into the brows. Makeup, moisturiser and cleanser can be used however care should be taken to avoid the newly tattooed area.
Your brows will be their darkest for the first 3 days, then you may find they get dry and flaky or crusty and patchy, this is completely normal. It is however important that you do not pick or itch your brows as this can pull the pigment out, so treat them with care.
People commonly feel emotional about their brows in the first few weeks because your brows may look really uneven, or you may notice patches of colour disappearing. This is part of the healing process and nothing to be alarmed about. As you navigate the first few weeks it is helpful to remain patient as your body heals and avoid looking in the mirror and judging your brows, this will simply stress you out unnecessarily.
As you progress into the next phase of healing you will notice the brows will drop out of colour or slowly fade down to 30 – 50%. The colour may then reappear over the next 2 – 3 weeks. Some days your brows will have a warm toned red/orange colour that varies day to day for the first couple of weeks.
To get the best results from tattoo brows you need to trust the process. Your final brow will always be lighter than when the tattoo is freshly done and they will look absolutely beautiful, so let your body recover and heal without judgement and stress.
