What's the best way to handle and care for my brows?
Many of my clients come to me asking what style of brow shape will suit their face the best, and it's one of the many things I love about what I do - helping women feel beautiful with the brows and lashes.
When it comes to brows, there’s a little bit of science and mathematics behind them, and determining the best shape and colour comes down to precision and measuring. There is no ‘one brow fits all’.
First of all, we need to measure your facial features to create the best brow shape that will suit you. Secondly, we pick the colour. When it comes to colour, there are multiple options that we’re able to alter and change through every appointment.
People like to go with the same colour as their hair, but others like to go a little bit darker. During every appointment, I’m able to customise your brow colour throughout your hair journey, so if you dye your hair, we can change your brow colour to match too. Everything is customisable!
When it comes to brows and what style to choose, there are a lot of different options as well.
The normal tint I use is a superior Swiss formulation which offers luxurious colours to choose from. We’re able to create a different look for each client as individual as they each are, to give a natural result. The style of tint lasts about a week or two on brow hairs and only lasts a day on the skin, but if you're looking for something a little more permanent, there are more options available.
Hybrid Brows are finished with extra long-lasting lash and brow dye with a henna effect. This dyes the skin and hairs, providing a rich and bright shade. The effect lasts up to seven days on the skin and up to seven weeks on hairs. If you are looking for something more natural that still gives a fuller look than tint but not as defined as hybrids, other options are below.
Henna Brows involve a beautiful tint from ‘Elleebana Brow’. Henna works on the hair and skin structure is incredibly unique in comparison to tinting. Tinting uses an oxidant to open the cuticle of the hair and allows the colour to penetrate the brow hair cortex through the oxidation process. Henna, on the other hand, acts like a blanket over the hair and provides a coating to the hair shaft, coating the top layers of the hair cuticle only, this helps to give the appearance of a thicker, softer and smoother hair and eyebrows.
All tints last differently depending on your skin type and how your brows are cared for too.
When it comes to looking after your brows and what products to use for everyday life here are some tips…
For someone who is wanting more of a defined brow, something like the perfect brow cream and brow styler will give you more definition and give you more control of where the product needs to go.
For someone who is looking for more fuller and fluffier brows, a brow blender, brow tint or the brow sculpting kit that includes powder and wax is best.
For someone who wants more of a fluffier brow or someone who has thinner brows and wants to make them look fuller than these products will become your best friends.
If you're someone who is just wanting to add a few extra strokes within the sparse areas, the brow stroke liner is definitely the product you want to go for.
To finish off your brow using any of these products I cannot recommend the brow set enough to make sure your brow hairs are locked in place all day. It can also be used alone without any product to make sure your brows are looking perfect.
